Job Overview

Smile Dental Center is seeking a skilled, patient-focused Orthodontist (DDS/DMD) for an immediate part-time opportunity at our Shelton, CT practice. This position offers the unique opportunity to step into an established, fully transition-ready patient caseload from day one. Working alongside an experienced clinical team in our modern dental office, you’ll provide high-quality orthodontic care to children, teens, and adults while enjoying a flexible schedule and competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality orthodontic care for an established patient base.
• Diagnose orthodontic concerns and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Monitor and adjust traditional braces, clear aligners, and other orthodontic appliances.
• Collaborate with general dentists, specialists, dental assistants, and administrative staff to provide seamless patient care.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records and treatment documentation.
• Educate patients and families on treatment options, oral hygiene, and expected outcomes.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a professional clinical environment.

Experience & Qualifications

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school.
• Certificate or Master’s degree in Orthodontics from an accredited residency program.
• Active, unrestricted Connecticut dental license.
• Current malpractice insurance (or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Gentle, patient-focused clinical approach.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a supportive team.
