Meet Our Team

Sarah has been with Smile Dental Center since 2012. She has a passion for people and truly enjoys working in the health care profession and helping others. Sarah enjoys making patients feel comfortable while they are in the office and making them feel happy about their smile. Sarah’s family and friends are very important to her and when she is not at the office, she enjoys spending as much time with them as possible. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her English Bulldog, Ernie.

With more than 15 years of experience as a hygienist, Mary joined the Smile Dental Center team in 2002. She became a dental hygienist because she loves to work with people. Mary treats each patient with care and respect, and always try to make their dental visits as comfortable and pleasant as possible. When she is not working at Smile Dental Center, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband and their two boys, Miguel and Gabriel. She enjoys volunteering at her children’s school and going to their soccer and baseball games. As a family, they enjoy camping and spending time together at the beach.

Sou has been a hygienist for over 15 years and joined Smile Dental Center in 2006. She loves her job and enjoys coming to work each day. Sou makes it her mission to educate her patients on good oral health and provides them the knowledge to maintain a beautiful smile for life. When she is not at Smile Dental Center, Sou enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, Annaly and Sonny. Her children keep her very busy with their daily activities. Sou also enjoys exercising and traveling.

Stephanie enjoys helping people and promoting good oral health. She is quick to make patients feel at ease by building confidence, trust and friendship with each patient. She is extremely devoted to educating patients on their individual needs. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, paddle boarding and watching Netflix.

Connie has over 18 years of experience as a certified dental assistant. Since 1997, she has been a member of the Smile Dental Center team as Dr. Sofferman’s assistant. Connie’s favorite part about working in dentistry is meeting and interacting with many different people. She feels a great sense of satisfaction when patients feel confident and ready to share their smiles. When Connie is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her four children and granddaughter. She also enjoys traveling to Italy as often as possible to visit her extended family.

Cassandra has been a dental assistant for over 15 years. While she has lived in many different places, Connecticut will always be her home. She has a bachelor’s degree in English and Sociology, enjoys writing, hiking, snuggling with her cats and spending time with her husband. Recently, she joined the Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard in Newtown, where she and her husband bought their house in 2018. She hopes to start fostering kittens again in the near future.

Iris has over 7 years of experience as a Certified Dental Assistant. Her favorite part about working in dentistry is that she can be part of helping people achieve their dream smiles. When Iris is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, Shaila and Ajani. She enjoys volunteering at her children’s school and going shopping. As a family, she enjoys going on family trips or just hopping in a car and taking a road trip.

Michele has been working in the dental field since 1994. She is a certified Dental Assistant and joined the Smile Dental family 20 years ago. Michele currently serves as our Patient Care Coordinator. In her off time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, volunteering at her church, as well as spending quality time with her 2 children and her husband of 30 years.

Dana is from Brooklyn, New York. She enjoys trying new food, getting to know new people and experiencing different sceneries.

Danesha enjoys welcoming patients with a warm smile and engaging introduction. Being involved and helping patients with their needs is truly a passion of hers. She loves to work with the team each and every day to help patients feel great about their beautiful smiles. When not at Smile Center Dental, Danesha loves to spend time with her family at home watching movies or simply enjoying each other’s company. She also loves spending time with her dog, Gracie.

Pilar has been working in the dental field for over 15 years. She enjoys embracing patients with a smile. Pilar is also a highly organized, motivated person who understands the need to work effectively as part of a dental team. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, going to the movies and bike riding.

Taniesha has been working in the dental field for over 15 years. She enjoys making patients happy and seeing them smile. When not in the office helping patients, Taniesha loves spending time with her husband, sons and extended family. Traveling is one of Taniesha's favorite hobbies.

Marie has been a part of the Smile Dental Center team since 1984. She has enjoyed watching the practice flourish over the years. Marie finds that working with the doctors and staff has been very rewarding. She loves working with patients, helping them feel comfortable and accommodating their busy lifestyles. Outside of the office, Marie enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters and her extended family. As a family, they enjoy boating, sitting by the pool and hiking in Vermont.
